05 Remarkable Kids’ Clubs in the Maldives

05 Remarkable Kids' Clubs in the Maldives
Contrary to popular belief, Maldives is not just a honeymoon destination. There are plenty of resorts that host kids' clubs.

Contrary to popular belief, Maldives is not just a honeymoon destination. Each resort has its own speciality, and there are plenty that caters to the needs of youngsters. Many have kids’ clubs that keep your children not only occupied but entertained and educated.

The Den, Soneva Fushi

The club occupying a space greater than six tennis courts houses a number of activities that will leave young ones spoilt for choice. Their many playrooms include a room for dress-up, a room full of musical instruments, as well as a Lego and Duplo room. Childminders keep a watchful eye on kids as they explore.

The Den also features a lounge area just for teens. A perfect reading nook to settle in with a read recommended by the island’s designated Barefoot Bookseller.

Evening activities include movie nights under the stars and sandbank mocktail parties. Island hosts are always on-hand to facilitate playtime. With storytime, shadow puppets and more, there is no room for boredom.

Majaa Kids’ Club, Kurumba Maldives

The word ‘majaa’ translates to ‘fun’, and we think this club has been named accordingly. This recreation centre built purely for fun is run by a team that is gifted with little ones. Indoor activities include creating traditional crafts with local natural materials, face painting, and towel origami. The more adventurous souls can take snorkelling lessons and build towering sandcastles out on the beach.

Those part of Majaa Teens can take part in additional activities more suited for their age. They can play a variety of sports from tennis to beach volleyball to Zumba. Teens can join yoga and tai chi lessons to help wind down and connect with their inner selves.

KidsOnly, One&Only Reethi Rah

With certified counsellors watching over them, little ones can explore the great outdoors as they please. Kids learn something new every step of the way. Whether they are snorkelling with the sea turtles or learning to make pasta, KidsOnly is dedicated to creating an enriching experience that will leave them with a newfound sense of independence.

The resort also offers Boduberu lessons, where the musically inclined are taught how to play the traditional drums and dance to the beats.

A little too old to join kids’ clubs? One Tribe is a hangout spot for teens where they can relax and play team games. Naturally curious? The staff are happy to answer any and all questions about the natural surroundings as they make discoveries.

Kandiland, Kandima Maldives

At Kandiland, kids can start their day right with a series of fun exercises, or by collecting shells during a walk on the beach. The multilingual team is fully capable of supervising children while they hunt for crabs and treasure. Then, they can venture indoors for some arts and crafts. Not really into making friendship bracelets and origami? Join a pancake party or learn how to Salsa.

Like their parents, kids are welcome to treat themselves to mini pampering sessions. By the end of the day, they will walk out with manicures, pedicures, and intricately braided hair. After sunset, all are welcome to sit around the bonfire and roast some marshmallows.

If you are still not convinced Kandiland is one of the best kids’ clubs; they have their very own waterpark!

Kuda Mas Club, Four Seasons Resort at Kuda Huraa

‘Kuda mas’ means ‘little fish’. Kids dart around just like little fish and are just as inquisitive. The Kuda Mas Club teaches young ones how to tend to the island garden and helps them discover the art of yoga through postures, games and songs. Staff will monitor kids as they go on scavenger hunts, race hermit crabs, and play indoor games.

Full of learning opportunities, the club conducts fun-filled sessions on Maldivian culture and history. Additionally, they carry out cooking classes where kids can learn how to create their own culinary masterpieces. The most memorable part of your child’s experience will definitely be having the chance to monitor turtles and coral reef-building.
