Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle racer and the 3-times MotoGP World Champion, Jorge Lorenzo has arrived in the Maldives. The Maldives’ Minister of Youth, Sports, and Community Empowerment, Ahmed Mahloof tweeted Jorge’s arrival in the Maldives.
According to the tweet by Youth Minister, Jorge Lorenzo met with some of the local racers in the Maldives. The youth minister wished the racer a wonderful holiday in the Maldives. Furthermore, Minister Mausoom has also thanked the 3-time MotoGP champion for meeting with the local racers.
The racer won the 2006 and 2007 250 cc World Championships, and 2010, 2012 and 2015 MotoGP World Championships. In addition to the titles, Lorenzo finished as a championship runner-up in the premier class on three occasions.

According to the latest statistics from the Maldives’ Ministry of Tourism, Maldives recorded 188,984 tourist arrivals within the first 2 months of 2021. In last month, the island archipelago witnessed 96,881 tourist arrivals.
Maldives also recorded the highest number of tourist arrivals in a single day during the year in February. This was on 21st February 2021, whereas the tropical holiday destination witnessed 5,268 tourist arrivals. Figures from the Ministry of Tourism also reveal that tourist spent an average of 8.8 days holidaying in the Maldives.
