Gulf Air has announced plans to increase flights to the Maldives with daily flight operations commencing from 15th August 2021.

The flag carrier of Bahrain said that demand for flights to the Maldives has increased over the past few months. This is likely due to the Maldives’ status as a safe holiday destination and convenient entry regulations.

The decision to increase our flights to Male is a classic example of demand and supply. We witnessed a growing demand for travel to the Maldives, being a year-round destination and one that’s open for tourism. Going daily with our flights is a fantastic feature for passengers to be able to depart or return on any day of the week depending on their calendars.

Acting Chief Executive of Gulf Air, Waleed AlAlawi.

According to a press release by Gulf Air, passengers from Bahrain, the GCC and Europe prefer the Maldives and many other Indian Ocean choices.

Statistics from the Maldives Immigration shows that 536 tourists visited the Maldives from Bahrain last month.
