Here are some of the best luxurious airlines for when you travel to the Maldives!

Qatar Airways

Maldives is one of the 170 destinations that Qatar Airways connects its passengers to. The airline is known to be the epitome of luxury flying, with its comfortable seats and personalised services. In the past, Qatar Airways has won multiple awards including the ‘World’s Best Business Class’ for the tenth time at the 2023 World Airline Awards. Additionally, the airline has also won the title of World’s Best Airline multiple years in a row. In addition to offering the luxury many passengers seek, there are multiple other benefits of flying with the airline. Some of the benefits of flying with Qatar Airways include:

  • Access to online exclusive fares and earning bonus Avios
  • special services requests and discounts on access baggage
  • Complimentary 24-hour booking hold and Q-Tag technology
  • Easy modifying for bookings and mobile accessibility

Beond Airlines

FlyBeond was introduced in the Maldives in 2023, offering luxury flights to its travellers. Marketed as the world’s first premium airline, BeOnd offers unimaginable luxury to its passengers. This all-premium aircraft provides lie-flat seats, private chauffeuring, and airport longe access to its travellers. In addition to this, BeOnd travellers can also explore top-notch dining experiences on their journey to the Maldives. Travellers can explore the luxury of BeOnd flights now, as the airline connects travellers to the Maldives from Dubai, Milan, Munich, Riyadh and Zurich. The Airline is also expected to introduce a new aircraft with some exciting destinations in 2024. One of the recent additions to the airline’s experience has also made BeOnd truly unique to its travellers. This February, BeOnd Airlines introduced Apple Vision Pro to select passengers. This new addition amps up the entertainment to the next level for passengers travelling to the Maldives!

Emirates

Emirates is one of the biggest airline brands, well known globally for connecting passengers to their favourite travel destinations. One of these amazing destinations that Emirates connects passengers through luxury flights is the Maldives! In addition to the comfort and convenience of flying with Emirates, the airline also caters to its travellers through personalised services. If the Emirates lounges and on-board Wi-Fi do not sell you on this luxury airline for a trip to Maldives, then the catering just might. Although it might feel like food is not that important on a trip, when you’re on a long-haul trip to the Maldives, amazing catering can make or break the trip. In addition to experiencing unique flavours on the flight, travellers of Emirates also speak highly of the comfortable seats and amazing adventures offered by the airline.

Etihad Airways

Being the second largest United Arab Emirates airline, Etihad Airways is on par with Emirates for the experience. Luckily for travellers looking for a luxury airline experience in the Maldives, you can always choose to fly Etihad! One of the unique reasons why Etihad Airways is recommended, according to Forbes, is due to its Etihad Guest Miles. As you earn miles every time you fly with the airline or one of its 20-plus partners, the number of miles you earn can increase extremely fast. For every economy-class ticket as well as business and first class tickets, the mile points are worth flying with the airline. With this, travellers can also explore discounted fares and mile rates, which might make your luxury trip to the Maldives a tad bit more budget-friendly.

Singapore Airlines

Singapore Airlines is yet another customer favourite. Although you can get amazing fares and discounted deals on Singapore Airlines, the airline also provides some top-notch premium business class as well as first-class experiences. Singapore Airlines just recently also updated its Premium Business class experience, to make it more premium for its passengers. In addition to the amazing in-flight services provided by the airline, Singapore Air also offers some additional benefits which include:

  • World-class inflight cuisine experiences
  • Spacious and comfortable seating
  • Amazing connectivity throughout the world
  • Easy online check-in

Saudi’s Mega-City NEOM Replaces CEO: What Happens Next?

Saudi Mega-City NEOM

Saudi Arabia has replaced the CEO of its NEOM mega-city project. Nadhmi al-Nasr, who led the project since 2018, is stepping down, and Aiman al-Mudaifer, a top official at the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), is stepping in as interim CEO.

Why the Leadership Change at NEOM?

This leadership change comes at a time when the NEOM project faces growing challenges. The timing raises many questions: What’s behind the change? And what does it mean for the future of this huge development?

NEOM is a massive project, designed to span 170 kilometers and include new ideas like twin skyscrapers, a ski resort, and the bold horizontal city, The Line. However, since its launch, many have questioned whether the project will meet its goals. There’s concern that delays could prevent the city from taking shape as planned.

What Does This Change Mean for NEOM?

According to a statement from NEOM, the leadership shift is part of the company’s effort to enter a “new phase of delivery.” Al-Mudaifer, who has worked at PIF since 2018, has experience in real estate development and knows the ins and outs of the NEOM project. He’s now tasked with making sure things stay on track. But can he handle the pressure and fix the delays? Only time will tell.

Challenges Facing NEOM

NEOM has already faced a few problems. One of the biggest issues is The Line. Originally, this centerpiece of the project was supposed to stretch 170 kilometers by 2030. However, reports now say that only 2.4 kilometers will be done by the end of the decade. This raises doubts about whether the project can meet its size and population targets. Earlier plans had expected a population of over one million in The Line by 2030. But now, new reports, including from Bloomberg, suggest that only 300,000 people might live there by then.

Sindalah Island: A First Step Forward

Despite these challenges, NEOM has already opened its first major development: Sindalah Island. This luxury island features a marina, hotels, and retail spaces, aiming to attract tourists. Sindalah Island will serve as an important test for NEOM’s future. If it succeeds, it could help set the tone for future developments and show that NEOM can make its ideas a reality.

Moving Forward with NEOM

Even with the setbacks, Saudi Arabia continues to push forward with NEOM’s plan. The city still includes other major developments, like Oxagon, Trojena, and Magna, which all aim to create a modern, balanced future. However, the question remains: Can NEOM meet its goals and become the city it’s promised to be?

Al-Mudaifer’s appointment marks a fresh start for NEOM. While challenges remain, this leadership change could be exactly what’s needed to keep things moving forward. The world will be watching to see how the project progresses in the coming years.
