Sun Siyam Iru Fushi marked World Cancer Day with a series of impactful events on February 3 and 4, 2025, under the theme “United by Unique.” The resort organized activities to raise awareness about cancer, including a Cancer Awareness session, a High Tea for Awareness, and a Pilates for Wellness session. These events, therefore, brought people together in the fight against cancer and promoted healthier lifestyles.
Abdulla Atham, Resort Manager, expressed his appreciation for everyone involved:
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone participating in these significant events. Everyone’s contributions are invaluable as we remain committed to raising awareness about cancer and supporting those who are impacted by it.”
The Cancer Awareness event kicked off on February 3, with students from N. Holhudhoo School attending a session led by Dr. Kalyan Adhikari, the resort’s doctor. Specifically, the session featured an informative presentation and interactive discussions that focused on the importance of early detection and preventive measures for cancer. Additionally, the students heard motivational messages from the resort’s management team, enjoyed refreshments, and explored the resort during a guided tour.
Through the Sun Siyam Cares initiative, the resort involved local students to foster community engagement and health awareness. By engaging with experts, the students gained valuable knowledge that they could share with their families. Moreover, the resort tour nurtured a sense of pride in their community and a responsibility for its environmental well-being.
The World Cancer Day events continued on February 4, beginning with the “High Tea for Awareness.” This gathering, in particular, provided a relaxing environment where guests could connect and show their support for cancer awareness. Later, a Pilates session focused on mindfulness and well-being, promoting both physical and mental health. Ultimately, these events encouraged guests to unite in their efforts to raise awareness, support those affected by cancer, and strengthen the community’s resolve in the fight against the disease.
