Bench Events has announced the first 30+ speakers for the second edition of Hospitality Tomorrow to be held in the coming weeks

Following the successful launch of Hospitality Tomorrow, the company’s first virtual conference that took place earlier this month and attracted 5,343 hospitality decision-makers from 128 countries, Bench Events has announced the first 30+ speakers for the second edition of Hospitality Tomorrow, set to take place on 12 May, 2020.

Powered by Bench Digital, Hospitality Tomorrow was launched to support the hard-hit international hospitality community during Covid-19, by offering a virtual conference platform that provides knowledge, facilitates information sharing and connects the industry.

Our goal for the last 25 years has been to bring the hospitality industry together around the world to network and to showcase best practice and thought leadership. Hospitality Tomorrow continues this journey and, as daunting as the challenge may seem, it’s crucial that we rebuild confidence in the global community. Now is the time to continue the conversation and to make those critical connections to build relationships, unity and actionable ways to support one another for a stronger response – as one industry, one community for one tomorrow.

Jonathan Worsley, Chairman of Bench Events

Virtually global, episode two of Hospitality Tomorrow (‘HT2’) will take place on Tuesday 12 May 2020. The interactive programme will follow the sun around the globe and is split into a focus on five key markets spanning the planet, starting at 06:00 GMT with a session on China and ending at 16:00 GMT with a focus on North America.

COVID-19 has connected the world through crisis. As discovered with Hospitality Tomorrow’s first edition, leaders are determined to stand together – across the globe and value chain – to ensure rigorous examination of the challenges ahead so we are all ready to mobilise smart, sustainable solutions once our doors, borders and skies re-open. I am incredibly honoured to be a part of this remarkable, pioneering project, and excited to be part of our next edition as our global community reconnects on May 12th.

Anita Mendiratta, Special Advisor to the Secretary General of UNWTO

Back by popular demand, HardTalk presenter Stephan Sackur will be moderating several sessions of the interactive programme that will, amongst others, cover key topics including the influence of technology on the world during and post Covid-19, trends and reinventions that are set to transform the industry, the future in art and culture, as well as sustainability, hospitality investment and asset management in the new normal.

The programme will once again have a stellar line-up of global thought leaders, the full list of speakers please can be found here. The speakers confirmed as of now can be seen on their website here.

The immersive conference experience will feature nine hours of interactive content and essential industry insights by global speakers on the main ‘live’ stage and in break-out sessions and roundtables, as well as live face-to-face networking and a virtual Expo hosted by the event sponsors

Through a voluntary registration contribution for the first edition of Hospitality Tomorrow, Bench Events was able to fund 16 hospitality workers’ livelihoods through Springboard and will continue to allocate funds from the ticket sales of this event to help hospitality professionals impacted by the struggling sector.

The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort: Dr. Shagnika Pradhan doing yoga

The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort has announced a special collaboration with Wellness Practitioner Dr. Shagnika Pradhan. From 19 November to 9 December 2024, Dr. Shagnika will bring her extensive expertise in naturopathy and yogic sciences to Miriandhoo Island. With more than seven years of experience, she combines ancient holistic practices with modern therapies. Her approach aligns perfectly with The Westin’s well-being pillars, which aim to help guests feel, sleep, move, eat, and play well.

Speaking on this collaboration, Vijay Kumar, General Manager of The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort said:

“This collaboration with Dr. Shagnika underscores our commitment to providing enriching wellness experiences for our guests. Her expertise aligns seamlessly with our mission to inspire balance and rejuvenation through holistic programs that embody The Westin’s well-being pillars.”

Dr. Shagnika’s tailored programs allow guests to restore balance and improve relaxation. For example, one of the key offerings, Sleep Enhancement Therapy, helps address sleep issues like insomnia and stress. Specifically, the therapy uses acupuncture, reflexology, herb-infused oil massages, Yoga Nidra, and sound healing to activate the parasympathetic nervous system. These techniques encourage deep rest and relaxation. In addition, when combined with The Westin’s Heavenly® Bed and the soothing Sleep Well Lavender Balm, guests will experience complete rejuvenation.

Moreover, in addition to sleep therapy, Dr. Shagnika’s Yoga for Well-being program provides guests with physical strength and mindfulness. It includes Hatha yoga postures, pranayama breathing, and guided meditation. Likewise, other therapies, such as Naturopathic Manipulative Therapy, Reiki Sound Healing, Aqua Yoga Breath Therapy, and personalized consultations, offer a holistic approach to well-being. As a result, these wellness options create a comprehensive path to inner peace and rejuvenation.

A Sanctuary for Mind and Body

Reachable via a 25 minutes by seaplane from Velana International Airport, or a 20-minute domestic flight followed by a short speedboat transfer, The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort is located in the Maldives’ first UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The resort features 69 luxurious overwater and beach villas with private pools and high-end amenities. Furthermore, guests can enjoy crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life, and the beautiful coral reef of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Additionally, for fitness enthusiasts, the resort offers its signature RunWESTIN program and a 24/7 WestinWORKOUT® Fitness Studio. To help with muscle recovery and tension relief, guests can borrow Hyperice wellness gear through the Gear Lending program. These services allow guests to stay active while traveling light.

This collaboration with Dr. Shagnika Pradhan offers a unique wellness experience in a peaceful environment. Ultimately, guests will find the perfect place to reconnect with themselves and achieve holistic well-being.
