Hassan Ishan, established in Maldives as “See from the Sky” is a Maldivian photographer and content creator. Content creators are important

Content creators are believed to be a part of every major industry today. Whether we talk about food, clothing, electronics, or any other area, content creators play a huge role in captivating the interest of people. With many of them having risen from the travel industry, content creators tend to draw people towards wanting to experience the same adventure. The creativity in telling a story using digital phones to high-end equipment has led many people to dream about the travel experience of a content creator.

However, with the whole industry on halt, influencers around the world are unleashing their creativity on social media platforms. By introducing educational series about the content and digital world, content creators are engaging with a number of people on Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, Webinars, Virtual Tours of destinations, and many more.

Hassan Ishan, established in Maldives as “See from the Sky” is a Maldivian photographer and content creator taking aerial photography and videography to the next level. His work has been acknowledged by many around the world including being featured in “ShotonIphone” series by Apple. He ( See from the Sky ) is also among the few blue mark verified Instagram accounts in the Maldives.

Ishan started his career as a customer service officer in Island Aviation, Maldivian. Ever since committing to photography and content creation, he has been working with various luxury resorts in the island nation while keeping a key interest in sharing the beauty and culture of local islands of Maldives.

We asked him how he has been using the time during the lockdown situation and his advice on the subject. Get to know Ishan and what he has to say:

1. How did you come along this line of work, where did it all start?

Ishan: I think we all love photography, not just me. We get a happy feeling when we see something beautiful whether it is a picture or a video. I used to be a customer service worker at the airport but I always had the passion for creating images from what I had back then which was an iPhone. I used to upload on Instagram but I never had the desire to become a professional photographer until one day at my workplace when a friend of mine brought a drone and we went flying it together.

After that day, I have always wanted a drone to create. On 21st September 2015, my girlfriend (wife now) gave me a drone as a birthday gift. I started taking photos with it as a hobby. I received a lot of positive feedback’s with people engaging and sharing what I create on social media. I started getting a lot of reactions and as time passed, people started contacting for commissioned work and I slowly changed my career. Alhamdulillah.

2. How did you come up with the name ‘See from the sky’?

Ishan: Initially, I was taking just aerial photography and videography. I did not want to include ‘drone’ and ‘aerial’ as my brand name. It was quite direct and I did not think much about the name.

3. The lockdown has enabled people to engage with technology and the internet a lot more than before. How do you think that has benefitted content creators?

Ishan: Despite the uncertainty of the situation and having to be locked up, we have more time on our hands to learn new things and more time to engage with followers and fans on social media. We have been given the time to edit and increase the output while reflecting on and learning other things too.

4. Being unable to travel has temporarily stopped the creation of new travel content. How have you been utilising your creativity during this time?

Ishan: I have been doing a lot of work and definitely got more time to reflect on other things apart from work. During the time I traveled, there was a lot of untouched content and I now have the time to go through it, edit and upload those on my social media accounts. In addition to that, I have been watching tutorials on YouTube as there is always something new to learn. I also have more time now to engage with my followers on Instagram and Facebook and give them free wallpapers and HD images every day from my content.

Ends ….
