This June, a remote luxury hideaway in the Maldives is turning a global celebration into something far more personal and deeply impactful. Freedive Maldives, which organized the record-breaking static apnea event in October 2022 that earned a Guinness World Record, brings its expertise to one of the most stunning environments in the country. The resort’s vast natural lagoon and expansive 9-kilometer house reef, one of the largest in the Maldives, provide the perfect setting for a meaningful dive beneath the surface.

Over several days, guests can join PADI-certified freediving sessions that range from introductory to advanced levels and earn their certifications along the way. In addition, the experience offers a rare chance to explore the reef’s vibrant marine life. Manta ray cleaning stations, nurse shark zones, coral gardens, and turtle nesting areas all thrive in these waters. Notably, the reef has already seen 11 turtle hatchings this year and hosts 93 resident turtles.
