Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) is taking part in the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Travel Mart 2020. The travel mart is one of the longest-running pan-regional travel shows. This year, PATA Travel Market (PTM) is held on a new, fully virtual platform. The fair started yesterday, (23rd September 2020) in conjunction with Sichuan International Travel Expo. Likewise, the fair will conclude on 27th September 2020.
During these five days of 2020 Virtual PTM, MMPRC will connect with several qualified buyers through network lounges, interactive games, and giveaways sessions. Furthermore, the show highlights the latest updates from participating destinations and corporations, alongside the PTM’s forums section of this event. These activities provide beneficial insights on travel recovery with live presentations and panels which could use utilization into future marketing strategies in the tourism industry, to strengthen the image of Maldives as a destination.
MMPRC took part in the PATA Dream to Travel Festival, held from 22nd June to 17th July 2020. This is a move by MMPRC in order to maintain destination presence in the markets. Likewise, the purpose of this was meeting experts in the field and to showcase products to the Pacific Asian region.
MMPRC also conducted several activities such as the Rediscover Maldives Webinar Series. The webinar series included 4 sessions targeted towards giving updated information about the destination to travel trade and media across different regions. The overall aim of participating in these virtual events is to maintain constant efforts through digital platforms. Furthermore, these events rebuild confidence in the destination as a ‘safe haven’ for tourists.
