MoU Signed to Implement Health Emergency Risk Compliance in Epidemic Context

from the MoU signing ceremony to implement compliance for Health Emergency Risk Management
MNU is collaborating with EIFEC to coordinate and implement compliance for Health Emergency Risk Management.

The Maldives National University (MNU) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the European Institute for Export Compliance (EIFEC) and the University of Turin, Italy. MNU is collaborating with EIFEC to coordinate and implement compliance for Health Emergency Risk Management in an epidemic context.

EIFEC aims to contribute to fostering international security and disseminating behaviors of excellence. This is done through the effective implementation of the specialized compliance management framework based on its international standard. The institute has the multidisciplinary knowledge and competence that allows them to define and develop, by innovation, Standards, guidelines, and certification mechanisms for emergency situations or critical areas of any nature.

As MNU is collaborating with EIFEC to coordinate and implement compliance for Health Emergency Risk Management in an epidemic context, this specifically includes:

  • Advice on the development and deployment in the Maldives and in the region, of the International Standards issued by the EIFEC Standards Tech Group
  • Assist and coordinate with the relevant Maldivian authority for optimization and integration of the national Guidelines and / or other activities
  • Prepare and provide the necessary training sessions to operators in the sector
  • Assist in the localization in local language of the new Standards if needed
  • Introduce and coordinate with organizations able to participate to the assessment and determination of the compliance of products, equipment and processes used in sanitization activities with the relevant national regulations, the indications of the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Health’s protocols about sanitization and disinfection of facilities, public spaces and industrial areas in accordance with the new emergency standards EIFEC ES2001.06: HBY series
  • Promote the new standards and assist organizations to build and start their management programs for the prevention and containment of the health emergency by Covid-19 or pandemics in similar situations

According to MNU, the present COVID-19 situation requests the development of proper emergency practices, policies, and procedures. It also requires to make them certified by accredited qualified third parties. For this reason, EIFEC has developed the new Emergency International Standards series. Thus, this helps organizations to be more effective in their fight against COVID-19, and people’s everyday lives safer and healthier.

The series include two different types of standards; Health Emergency Risk Compliance Management System (HER-CMS) and Compliance Management Systems for Sanitization Service Providers (SSP-CMS). HER-CMS can be implemented and adopted by all organizations. Furthermore, SSP-CMS is reserved to professional Sanitization Service Providers.

These layers include the physical body (Annamaya Kosha), the energy body (Pranamaya Kosha), the mental body (Manomaya Kosha), the intellectual body (Vijnanamaya Kosha), and the bliss body (Anandamaya Kosha).
