The Ritz-Carlton has appointed Rasika Ruhunuarachchi as the Director of Engineering pre-opening The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands.

The Ritz-Carlton has appointed Rasika Ruhunuarachchi as the Director of Engineering pre-opening The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands. Rasika accepted his new role with The Ritz-Carlton Maldives and commenced his work on 01st April 2020.

Born and raised in Sri Lanka, Rasika completed his education in marine engineering and industrial engineering at CINEC Maritime Campus Colombo. After which, he worked at the Sri Lankan Navy for 10 years, and gained technical experience in terms of multitasking and working in a fast-paced environment. Rasika completed technical training courses relevant to engineering in UK, Oman, Italy, Singapore and Sri Lanka.

He then moved to Maldives and joined Cummins Maldives (IESS) as an engineer. With over 22 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Rasika has held a number of senior technical management positions at a number of resorts and private companies. He has worked at Oman Marketing and Services Co. (OMASCO), Thudufushi Island Resort Maldives and Cheval Blanc Randheli.

Prior to joining The Ritz-Carlton, Rasika carried out the responsibilities of the Director of Engineering at Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi. Rasika’s expertise and knowledge in engineering as well as the hospitality industry makes him a perfect fit for his new role at The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands.

Marriott International announced the debut of Ritz Carlton brand in Maldives, Fari Islands to be open late 2020 with a 100-villa resort amid white sandy beaches.
