Indian Celebrities are Flocking to the Maldives Once Again

Indian Celebrities in Maldives
Resorts in the Maldives resumed welcoming travellers from South Asia and Indian celebrities are flocking to the holiday destination once again.

Resorts in the Maldives resumed welcoming travellers from South Asia on 15th July 2021. Since then, several Indian celebrities have been spotted enjoying a getaway in the sunny side of life.

The Maldives has always been one of the preferred destinations for travellers from India. But, since the island nation opened borders last year by becoming one of the few countries open to tourists, countless celebrities from India choose to holiday in the island archipelago.

Until travellers from India were restricted to visit the Maldives, the neighbouring country has been the Maldives’ biggest individual market in terms of tourist arrivals. On 13th May 2021 Maldives Immigration suspended entry for tourists from South Asian countries including India due to the COVID-19 crisis in the region.

But, travellers from India can now visit the Maldives and enjoy the tropical island life. Some Indian celebrities that have already been spotted in the Maldives this month include Shakti Mohan, Mukti Mohan, and Durjoy Datta.

Séan Garnier Takes Kandima Maldives by Storm with Freestyle Football

Travellers who vacationed at Kandima Maldives recently got the performance of a lifetime!

Redbull-sponsored freestyle football legend Séan Garnier recently took over Kandima Maldives, surprising football fans on vacation. During a fun-filled beach event, vacationers got to play short one-on-one games with Garnier. Additionally, Garnier also pulled out some major tricks, bringing contagious energy to Kandima Maldives.

Kandima Maldives appears to be a favourite spot for Séan Garnier and his family, as this is not the first time he has stayed at this beautiful resort destination. Promoting his one-on-one game and tricks, Garnier stated that Kandima Maldive is the most beautiful island in Maldives. Just a few years back, in 2019, Garnier brought his family on a little getaway to Kandima Maldives. Sharing pictures on Instagram, Garnier thanked the resort for an awesome week of vacation.

Even during his 2019 trip, Garnier took some time to play one-on-one matches with the resort staff in addition to partaking in the ice-bucket challenge. The ice-bucket challenge was popularised during this time, to raise awareness around amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

In addition to his stay in Kandima Maldives, Séan Garnier has also performed in the Maldives back in 2011. As the first world champion of Redbull Street Style Soccer, Garnier performed in various parts of the Maldives. This included the Greater Male’ Area, Alif Alif Atoll Rasdhoo and the Dhiraagu Road Show. During this visit, Garnier was joined by Andreas Cetkovic, Champion of France 2010.

The French-born, freestyle soccer expert embraced the urban art of freestyle football after following his ambition to become a professional footballer. Quickly finding his groove, Garnier was crowned the World champion at the first Redbull Street Style World Finals in Brazil in 2008. Since then, Garnier has been a fan-favourite when it comes to freestyle tricks.
