This accolade, therefore, underscores the Bank’s ongoing efforts to enhance interbank ATM connectivity and security across the island. As the first local bank to implement full EMV-chip compliance across its entire ATM network, Commercial Bank delivers secure and seamless transaction experiences to millions of Sri Lankans. Consequently, its customers can access their funds safely and conveniently through any LankaPay-connected ATM, setting a benchmark for the industry.
Moreover, at the LankaPay Technnovation Awards 2025, the Bank also swept six additional awards, including the Overall Award for Excellence in Digital Payments, further validating its leadership in digital innovation. These honors, in turn, recognize how Commercial Bank consistently prioritizes customer convenience, financial inclusion, and national payment interoperability.
Additionally, LankaPay, Sri Lanka’s national payment network, hosted the 2025 ceremony under the patronage of Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe. The event, therefore, highlighted the banking sector’s pivotal role in shaping the country’s digital economy.
