On May 3, 2025, CROSSROADS Maldives, the country’s first multi-integrated destination, partnered with the Maldives Autism Association (MAA) to host a memorable and fun-filled afternoon for a group of young individuals. The MAA, founded on January 21, 2010, has provided essential educational and therapeutic support for children with autism spectrum disorder throughout the Maldives.
The event aimed to honor neurodiversity and inclusion, offering a unique experience for children, their parents, and teachers. Leaders at CROSSROADS Maldives warmly welcomed the participants to a thoughtfully curated event, beginning with a guided tour of the Maldives Discovery Centre. This immersive experience provided valuable insights into the nation’s rich culture, history, marine life, and the environmental challenges currently facing the islands.
After the educational tour, the group then gathered at the CROSSROADS Marquee, an outdoor venue with stunning ocean views, where they enjoyed an array of exciting activities. These included henna art, face painting, and a fun inflatable playground, among other games. Throughout the afternoon, the event was filled with laughter, interactive moments, and a strong sense of community, all while promoting inclusion and celebrating the importance of embracing differences.
Moreover, CROSSROADS Maldives proudly holds membership in the Green Globe initiative, showcasing its commitment to corporate social responsibility. The destination integrates sustainable tourism practices throughout its operations, from daily routines to annual plans, in both of its world-class resorts—Hard Rock Hotel Maldives and SAii Lagoon Maldives, Curio Collection by Hilton. Ultimately, this event highlights one of many ways the resort fosters collaboration with the local community, ensuring that social and environmental responsibility remains central to its mission.
