Greg Allan Appointed General Manager of Sheraton Maldives

Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa has announced Greg Allan as its new General Manager, effective 20 October, 2024. Allan brings extensive experience to this leadership role, having built a strong reputation in the hospitality industry. He returns to Marriott, ready to steer the resort toward continued success.

Before joining Sheraton Maldives, Greg Allan held several prominent positions in the hospitality sector. He served as President & Chief Operating Officer at Aryaduta Hotel Group. Additionally, he was Vice President of Operations for ASEAN at Pan Pacific Hotels Group and Area Vice President at Rotana Hotel Management Corporation PJSC. His leadership experience also includes the role of Vice President – Rooms, Food & Beverage at Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore. These roles have equipped him with a wide-ranging skill set, which he now brings to Sheraton Maldives.

A Proven Track Record of Leadership

Greg Allan’s career includes significant leadership roles at Marriott International. He has served as Area Director of Operations for Southeast Asia, overseeing multiple properties in the region. Allan’s experience also includes General Manager roles at several Marriott properties, including JW Marriott Khao Lak in Thailand, Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza, and JW Marriott Jakarta Hotel & Marriott Executive Apartments Jakarta. Furthermore, he has held Food & Beverage leadership positions at Amman Marriott Hotel and JW Marriott Hotel Dubai.

In his most recent role, Greg Allan worked as the Chief Operating Officer at PT Surya Internusa Hotels. He led the commercial, operational, and development strategies for 11 branded hotels, which included LXR Hilton, Melia Hotels, and BATIQA Hotels. His broad experience in the hospitality industry makes him well-prepared to lead Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa into the future.

Allan is also passionate about outdoor activities, photography, and keeping up with current affairs, balancing his professional accomplishments with personal interests.

Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa is located on the private island of Furanafushi in the Republic of Maldives, just a 15-minute speedboat ride from Velana International Airport. The resort offers 176 guest rooms, each designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding turquoise waters, pristine beaches, and lush greenery. MIC Group announces the appointment of Mohamed Nisham as its new Chief Financial Controller, a strategic move aimed at enhancing the company’s financial operations. Nisham, a seasoned professional in financial management within the hospitality sector, brings significant expertise in areas such as financial strategy, automation, and improving operational processes. In his new role, he will oversee the financial operations across all business divisions, working to ensure both growth and financial stability for the company.

Nisham holds an MBA in Accounting & Finance from the University of Suffolk and has built a remarkable career in financial leadership within the luxury hospitality industry in the Maldives. His experience includes expertise in financial planning, cost control, and regulatory compliance. Prior to this role, Nisham served as the Financial Controller at Oaga Art Resort, where he played a key role in enhancing the resort’s financial structure. Additionally, his previous positions at Amilla Maldives and Anantara Kihavah Villas further highlight his skill in managing finances at high-profile luxury properties.
