Maldivian Airlines Enhances Medical Response in Maldives through Air Ambulance Services!

The national carrier of the Maldives, Maldivian Airlines announces the enhancement of emergency medical response through the airline. As part of the official pledge by the Government, air ambulance services were integrated on March 1st, 2024. In order to facilitate these top-notch medical services, a Maldivian airline Dash8-200 aircraft was deployed. Since its launching on March 1st, the air ambulance has already completed over 25 medical flights across the Maldives.

Maldivian Airlines also announces the addition of a seaplane aircraft to the Air Ambulance fleet. With this addition, Maldivian is contributing to further improving the medical emergency services in the Maldives. This project became a success through the collaboration between Maldivian Airlines, the Ministry of Health, NSPA, Aasandha Ltd, and the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation.

The new air ambulance services have been designed for flexibility as well as reliability. With this, the DH-6 Twin Otter will now be serving as a crucial addition to the air ambulance capabilities. This new service by Maldivian Airlines allows medical transportation directly to islands through seaplanes. The DH-6 Twin Otter has also been equipped with medical equipment in order to enhance the capacity to provide timely air transfer for emergency medical cases!
