Qatar Airways Holidays, the leisure division of the flag carrier of Qatar, celebrated the Travel Bubble Holidays’ success to the Maldives. This travel bubble is the longest-running uninterrupted safe corridor.
According to Qatar Airways, passengers of the last inbound flight to Qatar on 20th February 2021 received a special welcome. In celebration of the Travel Bubble Holidays’ success, Qatar Airways Holidays presented the returning passengers with gifts as well. Likewise, one lucky passenger received a QAR 5,000 voucher that can be used against any future bookings.

Gulf Times reported that since the launch of the safe travel corridor in November 2020, Qatar Airways Holidays operated more than 70 flights to and from the Maldives. Hence, more than 3,000 passengers enjoyed a much-needed vacation in the Maldives; without the requirements of entry permits, quarantine or self-isolation restrictions.

Travellers from all over the world can visit the Maldives with no restrictions. As of 21st February, the island archipelago has recorded 164,394 tourists arrivals in the year. According to the Maldives’ Ministry of Tourism, 353 guesthouses, 147 resorts and 137 safari vessels are currently operational in the Maldives.
The Maldives targets to welcome 1.5 million tourists in 2021. Additionally, the Maldives’ Ministry of Tourism forecasts that the Maldives will witness over 10 million bed nights in 2021.
