Richard Fain, Chairman and CEO of parent company Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd give another upbeat video message. The message was emailed to travel partners by Vicki Freed, Senior Vice President-Sales & Trade Support & Services.
Fain started by outlining the encouraging news in the COVID-19 pandemic as the U.S. and other nations start to reopen. Fain stated that he is been questioned about why the cruise industry has not yet publicized its enhanced protocols. As many travel partners have been seeing messages from airlines, car companies, etc on new sanitation and health protocols. Fain responded to those questions by stating that unlike those companies they have not yet started its operations today and they have the luxury of time needed to gather the top of the experts to come up with the most efficient and absolutely the best course forward.
We’re all anxious to get back to operating our cruises and returning, but we will not do so until we are confident that we can do so properly and with appropriate safeguards for our guests and our crew. To that end, we’re working on a detailed set of protocols and procedures that can give us and your clients that level of confidence.”
