In a heartfelt effort to support the local community, Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa donated mattresses valued at MVR 85,118.40 to Fiyavathi Orphanage in Hulhumalé. The resort made the contribution on May 13, 2025, thereby reinforcing its ongoing commitment to social responsibility and to improving the lives of vulnerable children in the Maldives.
Greg Allan, General Manager of Sheraton Maldives, visited the orphanage in person and handed over the donation, further emphasizing the resort’s hands-on approach to community engagement. During his visit he said:
“At Sheraton Maldives, we believe that true hospitality extends beyond our resort. This
donation is a reflection of our dedication to the local community and our hope to contribute
positively to the daily lives of these children.”
Fiyavathi Orphanage, operated by the Maldivian government, provides shelter, education, and care for orphaned and at-risk children from across the country. As a result, the donated mattresses will help improve the comfort and well-being of the children living at the facility.
Moreover, this donation forms part of a broader set of initiatives that the resort leads under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program. Sheraton Maldives actively carries out a range of outreach efforts, including environmental sustainability, education-focused programs, and charitable giving.
In addition to these efforts, the resort frequently collaborates with local organizations to ensure that its support reaches those who need it most. Through such initiatives, it not only uplifts the community but also fosters stronger local connections.
Furthermore, Sheraton Maldives takes pride in ensuring that its CSR activities reflect the genuine values of hospitality and compassion. Consequently, each environmental or social project is designed to create a meaningful impact.
By building stronger ties with local institutions like Fiyavathi, Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa continues to prioritize meaningful contributions that extend beyond hospitality. Ultimately, the resort aims to create lasting, positive change in the Maldives and lead by example in responsible tourism.
