About SO/ Maldives & Its Luxury Design Features
SO/ Maldives draws inspiration from the glamour of the fashion world for its design. Lead designer Calvin Sim, with the support of Carol Chng, developed the design for SO/ Maldives. This was done under the auspices of S Hotels & Resorts. Eco-Id Architects Pte Ltd curated the beautiful architecture of the resort, while the construction was undertaken by the locally renowned brand ALIA Constructions. In November 2023, the completion of the project saw the beautiful creation of SO/ Maldives, marking the establishment of the third property within CROSSROADS Maldives.
The architectural design resort blends the world of castaway tranquillity and runaway elegance, bringing travellers something truly unique. In addition to the beautiful over-water pavilion, the resort also brings clean lines, cool neutrals, and natural wood to create a sophisticated backdrop. The vibrant accents and sculptural red-latticed central staircase complement the design. SO/ Maldives adorns its unique walkways with billowing fabrics or architectural timber canopies. This further contrasts the lush natural flora of the island!
