Maya returns to the Sun Siyam family in the Maldives, bringing a fresh perspective and a strong commitment to enhancing the resort’s spa and wellness offerings. With her extensive experience in the spa industry and her keen attention to detail, she has driven successful marketing initiatives. Additionally, she has improved treatment options and increased revenue through effective budget management and cost efficiency.

Maya Hamid’s Expertise and Leadership

Maya Hamid brings over 20 years of international experience to her role. She has worked with prestigious luxury hotel and resort brands such as Shangri-La, Marriott International, Hilton, Waldorf Astoria, Accor Hotels, and Starwood. Throughout her career, Maya has gained experience in key destinations like Indonesia, Malaysia, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, India, and the Middle East. In her previous role as Cluster Director of Spa at Marriott International in Saudi Arabia, Maya elevated spa operations across multiple properties. She successfully implemented changes that boosted spa services and guest satisfaction.

Maya also has a strong connection to Sun Siyam Resorts. She previously worked as the Spa Manager at Siyam World. Where she gained deeper insight into the company’s operations. This experience helped her refine her expertise in spa management, guest services, and leadership.

Maya holds a degree in Spa Operations and Management from Chiva Som International Spa Academy in Thailand. As the Director of Spa and Wellness, she will oversee all spa operations at Sun Siyam Olhuveli. Her passion for health and wellness, combined with her proven leadership skills, will help maintain and elevate the resort’s position as a top destination for wellness enthusiasts.
