Tourists Can Visit Maldives From 15th July

President of Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih declared to open borders starting 15th June 2020 with no restrictions. It was announced Tuesday in a press briefing held by the island nations president to update the ongoing status and plans post Covid-19 new normal.

With 70% percent of countries revenue been based on the income generate by tourism. Maldives is one of the many countries that has had a huge impact to the economy due to the halt of the travel and tourism industry globally. Moving past the pandemic Maldives has taken meticulous steps and have guidelines in place to ensure safety of all personal with the least bit of hassle.

On July 15th the country will reopen its borders for international travel, and the Government will allow resorts to welcome visitors. This will provide much needed relief to our Tourism Industry and accelerate the country’s economic recovery.

With the announcement, Guidelines for restarting tourism in Maldives which includes key information for all travelers was published on the Ministry of Tourism website. The Guidelines provides defined directions on how travelers can travel to and from Maldives and the important minimum standards to be maintained by the hotels and resorts.

While only some of the properties have confirmed to open from 15th July and some have confirmed to open the doors at a later stage from August and September. Final preparations of post Covid19 operations for specific resorts are been shared and explained in brand social media channels.

Maldives is expected to be the safest destination for the travelers due to its One Island, One Resort concept. Minimizing contact with mass groups of people in one place.
