Trans Maldivian Airways Gearing Up for Post COVID-19 Operations

Trans Maldivian Airways gears up to take to the skies once again. After almost four months of battling the global pandemic in Maldives.

As Maldives prepares to reopen its borders in July 2020, Trans Maldivian Airways is gearing up to take to the skies once again. After almost four months of battling the global pandemic, Maldives has slowly begun easing lockdown measures and travel restrictions.

With preparations in line to reopen the borders, and to welcome travelers in July, the Ministry of Tourism has proposed safe tourism guidelines which are yet to be finalized soon. The draft guidelines cover all aspects from entry regulations to checkout procedures, ensuring the safety of travellers as well as the employees working in the hospitality sector.

While the resorts have imposed extensive hygiene measures to deliver safe vacations, Trans Maldivian Airways also has been practicing and implementing the new standards of hygiene in TMA aircrafts, all ground transportation vehicles, passenger waiting area and throughout TMA terminals.

Amidst the corona virus pandemic, though Maldives had to unfortunately shut its doors on incoming tourist arrivals, still we have actively transferred the guests as well as resort staff from airport to Velana International Airport and continue to run our operations based on the demand of our resort partners. We are now gearing ourselves to comply with leading industry wide safety & hygiene norms, IATA proposed standards and be ready to welcome tourists back to the island nation and give them a memorable experience.

Worlds Largest seaplane operator has been an important aspect through this pandemic in Maldives. Conducting much needed flights to and from resorts, helping guests and staff to reach their homes in the most safe and convenient manner.

Having to cease tourism operations for months has undoubtedly taken a major toll on the Maldives’ economy. However, the country has been hopeful in resuming operations and expected to welcoming travellers to experience the unique island life in July 2020. Her signature programs, including Aqua Tabata, Kickboxing, Circuits, Pilates, Aerobics, and Zumba, blend science with flow to deliver joyful, joint-friendly workouts that boost overall vitality.
