Emirates has introduced multiple stringent measures for employee and customer care, resuming regular scheduled passenger flights.

Emirates has introduced multiple stringent measures for employee and customer care, resuming regular scheduled passenger flights to nine destinations. Redefining safety and hygiene standards on board and on the ground, the new measures took effect on 21st May 2020.

These comprehensive measures will be implemented at every step of the traveller’s journey, enhancing sanitation of all touch points and to ensure the wellbeing of Emirates’ customers and staff. With this, the airline will be providing complementary hygiene kits to every passenger upon check-in at the Dubai International Airports as well as on flights to Dubai. The complimentary kits comprise of masks, gloves, antibacterial wipes and hand sanitizer, ensuring the safety of passengers.

All travellers and employees are required to wear masks and gloves at the airport in Dubai, while only masks are mandatory on Emirates flights. Thermal scanners placed at various areas of the airport will monitor the temperature of all passengers and employees. In addition to that, physical distancing indicators are placed on the ground and at waiting areas to help travellers maintain the necessary distance throughout the journey.

Passengers transiting through Dubai International Airport and transferring to another flight, will go through thermal screening upon disembarkation. Transfer desks at the airport will also have protective barriers installed to ensure utmost safety. Airport staff dressed in PPEs will guide customers from safe distance for extra assistance, and the passengers will be given an additional hygiene kit at the gate before boarding the connecting flight.

Boarding sequence has also been staggered with passengers boarding row by row in small numbers, starting from the last row to the first. With the waiting area further modified to observe social distancing, Emirates boarding agents will also be dressed in PPEs to ensure safety. After the boarding of every flight, the boarding gates are deep cleaned and thoroughly disinfected.

In addition to these, the airline has implemented several precautionary measures to ensure safety and confidence for travellers. Furthermore, magazines and print reading materials will not available on the flights, and the cabin crew will be fully kitted in PPEs on board. Emirates has also added other stringent protocols to safeguard employees and passengers.
