Qatar Airways has introduced temporary additional safety measures for passengers and cabin crew members for the flight

Qatar Airways has introduced temporary additional safety measures for passengers and cabin crew. The enhanced onboard safety measures aim to reduce the interactions between passengers and the crew.

The additional precautionary measures include Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) suits for crew members and the requirement of passengers wearing mandatory face coverings. In addition to safety goggles, gloves, and mask, the crew will be wearing the disposable PPE suit to ensure utmost safety. The cabin crew have been wearing PPE during flights, including gloves and face masks for several weeks now. From 25th May 2020 onwards, passengers will require wearing face coverings inflight. Passengers are recommended to bring their own masks for better fitting and comfort purposes.

At Qatar Airways, we have introduced these additional safety measures onboard our flights to ensure the continued health and wellbeing of our passengers and cabin crew, and to limit the spread of coronavirus. As an airline, we maintain the highest possible hygiene standards to ensure that we can fly people home safely during this time and provide even greater reassurance that safety is our number one priority. Seeing as we are still flying the world’s largest international network by operating flights to more than 30 destinations around the world, and aiming to grow our network again in the coming months, these onboard safety measures will assist us in achieving our goals.”

Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways

Additional safety measures onboard include business class meals being served on a tray instead of a table set up, and a cutlery wrap will be offered as an alternative to individual cutlery services. Economy class meals will be served sealed as usual. Large bottles of hand sanitizer will be placed at galleys for the use of passengers and crew. Furthermore, all social areas onboard have been closed to maintain social distancing measures.

Passengers flying business class can avail more privacy in the Qsuite which includes sliding privacy partitions and fully closing doors. Passengers wishing to limit their interactions with the crew can use the ‘Do Not Disturb’ indicator in the private suites.

Qatar Airways has maintained the highest standards of health and safety including regularly disinfecting using products recommended by International Air Transport Association (IATA) and World Health Organisation (WHO).

Likewise, other therapies, such as Naturopathic Manipulative Therapy, Reiki Sound Healing, Aqua Yoga Breath Therapy, and personalized consultations, offer a holistic approach to well-being. As a result, these wellness options create a comprehensive path to inner peace and rejuvenation.
