Sun Siyam Resorts Celebrates International Yoga Day 2025 with a Week of Wellness

International Yoga Day celebrations at Sun Siyam Resorts with Shane Seery and Marina Violinha

As International Yoga Day approaches, Sun Siyam Resorts offers guests a unique opportunity to nurture both body and mind through a special week-long wellness program. From June 19th to 25th, two of the resort’s peaceful island destinations, Sun Siyam Iru Veli and Sun Siyam Vilu Reef, will host a series of sessions crafted by internationally renowned wellness experts. This initiative invites visitors to embrace balance, strength, and renewal amid the stunning natural beauty of the Maldives.

Wellness Experts Lead Transformative Sessions

The highlight of this year’s International Yoga Day celebration comes through the guidance of Shane Seery and Marina Violinha, two acclaimed professionals in the wellness field. Shane Seery, an Executive Health Coach, takes a science-driven approach to functional movement and long-term health transformations. Marina Violinha, a holistic Women’s Health and Fitness Expert, focuses on hormone-centered, strength-based wellness and brings a wealth of global experience.

Together, they’ll lead a thoughtful mix of movement and mindfulness. The program blends yoga, breathwork, functional fitness, and wellness talks, all set within the calming surroundings of the Maldives. The result is an easygoing but intentional journey into deeper well-being.

Sun Siyam Iru Veli Hosts Sunrise and Sunset Sessions

From June 19th to 21st, Sun Siyam Iru Veli welcomes guests to three wellness-focused sessions in some of the island’s most scenic spots. The week kicks off with a sunset yoga session and wellness talk with Marina Violinha at Magoodhoo Beach, setting the mood with golden light and salty sea air. Later on, Shane Seery leads a dynamic functional fitness workout at the Tennis Court, helping guests tap into strength and mobility in a fun and approachable way.

Just after that, there’s a chance to slow things down again. On the morning of June 21st, Marina returns to guide a sunrise yoga and breathwork session at Turtle Beach. This time, guests wake up to soft light and the sound of the waves while easing into a grounding practice. Each activity lines up with the island’s natural rhythms, which makes it easier to stay present, breathe deeper, and feel more connected to the moment.

Sun Siyam Vilu Reef Continues the Sunset Wellness Journey

From there, the celebration continues just a short distance away. Between June 23rd and 25th, Sun Siyam Vilu Reef picks up the flow with three evening sessions at Aqua Beach. This time, the spotlight stays on sunset and shoreline. Marina leads two gentle yoga sessions and casual wellness talks along the beach, a welcome chance to pause and unwind before dinner.

In the meantime, Shane brings back the energy with a powerful functional training session right on the sand. It’s challenging, but also playful and invigorating. Guests get to move with the breeze, work up a sweat, and end the session feeling refreshed. All of this happens as the sun goes down, the kind of moment that makes everything slow down in the best way.

While the programming itself is already worth the trip, the resort also makes it easier to stay longer and experience more. Right now, Sun Siyam Resorts is offering seasonal perks at both properties to sweeten the deal even further.
