A twitter poll by Qatar Airways indicates out of 3808 voters, 73% would choose the Maldives for their ideal 2-day getaway. Meanwhile, 14% of voters choose Zanzibar while 12% choose Bodrum.
One Twitter user from Zanzibar pointed out on the poll they would choose the Maldives as their second destination. Meanwhile, a user from the Maldives indicated they’ll prefer Zanzibar as their second destination. Of course, the data from the poll is not an official representation of public opinion. And likewise, twitter polls are not scientific since they are not systematically conducted and therefore cannot represent public opinion.
However, the Maldives has become an ideal destination for many travelers. According to Google’s Year in Search 2019, Maldives has grown to become the favorite vacation destination for US holidaymakers. In addition to that, according to recent data from Google Trends, the Maldives is the Europeans’ top holiday destination for 2021.
