Ministry of Tourism revealed that 728 tourist facilities are currently operational in the Maldives. According to the ministry, 154 resorts, 445 guesthouses (and hotels), and 140 safari vessels are currently operational in the island destination.

Currently, the operational bed capacity of the Maldives is 48,440 beds (out of 54,022). While the majority of the resorts in the Maldives are currently operational, a few resorts have ongoing renovations.

According to the latest statistics from the ministry, 528,157 tourists have visited the Maldives by 7th July 2021. Arrivals are further expected to increase in the coming weeks with the resumption of issuing vias to South Asian travellers.

As of now, Russia is the Maldives’ leading individual market with over 128,000 arrivals. As of 7th July 2021, tourist arrivals from Russia accounts for a 24.4% share of the total arrivals. India, Germany, Ukraine and the United States are also some of the leading source markets to the Maldives.
