Joali Maldives christmas celebration

JOALI Maldives, the Maldives’ first art-immersive resort, is bringing holiday magic to life with its festive theme, “Tis the Season to be Jolly!” From 21 December 2024 to 10 January 2025, the resort will transform into a Christmas wonderland. As a result, guests can expect holiday cheer, nostalgia, and unforgettable celebrations in a truly enchanting setting.

Traditional Christmas activities are lined up, including a sparkling tree lighting ceremony and a visit from Santa Claus. In addition, the fun continues with a glamorous Christmas Eve Gala, followed by a delicious Christmas Day brunch. JOALI Maldives brings its signature art-immersive twist to the festivities, ensuring the whole family gets involved in exciting activities.

Guests can unleash their creativity with Holiday Ceramics, crafting their very own pottery under the guidance of JOALI’s Resident Artist. Moreover, they can dive into the spirit of giving with Christmas Tree Coral Planting, where guests help restore the reef by adding coral fragments to a festive tree frame. JOALI’s unique Fashion Show will also light up the holiday season, featuring JOALI’s signature collections alongside Aquazzura and Frescobal Carioca on a tropical runway.

But that’s not all! The festive season will feature a dazzling lineup of world-renowned chefs and wellness experts. Additionally, these special guests will bring JOALI’s “Joy of Living” philosophy to life.

  • Chef Ekaterina Alehina, the first female Michelin-starred chef in Russia, will present a memorable wine-paired dinner. Her dishes will focus on sustainability and circular gastronomy, blending the natural realms of plants, animals, and fungi.
  • Chef Nina Tarasova, a famous confectioner, will craft magical festive desserts. She’ll team up with Chef Alehina and showcase her skills at a sushi and seafood dinner paired with sake.
  • Dr. Sanket Yadahalli, a celebrated naturopath, will offer personalized wellness therapies to tackle stress, pain, and sleep issues. He will also lead a Tratak Meditation session to help guests find focus and peace.
  • Gaia Pagnini, a passionate fitness expert, will energize the season with fun fitness classes like Boot Camp and Core & Balance. Thus, guests can stay fit while enjoying the festive spirit!

For those in the mood to shop, JOALI De Maison has exclusive capsule collections from Aquazzura and Frescobol Carioca. Specifically, guests can discover beautiful sandals, clutches, menswear, and more, all inspired by JOALI’s tropical paradise. The designs reflect Italian craftsmanship and capture the beauty of the Maldives.

Meanwhile, over in New York City, Lysée, the pastry boutique by Michelin-Starred Chef Eunji Lee, will offer a limited-time holiday dessert inspired by JOALI. Chef Lee combines Korean ingredients with French techniques to create pastries that are like edible art. Her shop, Lysée, which translates to “sweet museum” in French, will bring a taste of the Maldives to the Big Apple!

This holiday season, guests at JOALI Maldives will experience true luxury with 73 beautifully appointed beach and over-water villas. With 11 villa categories, there’s something for everyone, whether it’s a one-bedroom villa or a four-bedroom suite. JOALI Maldives Celebrates Six Years with Exclusive Art Event by Ruinart

JOALI Maldives Arrival Jetty

On 15 November 2024, JOALI Maldives, first and only art-immersive resort in the Maldives, will celebrate six spectacular years of creativity and luxury. The resort has partnered with Maison Ruinart, the world’s oldest champagne house, to host a one-of-a-kind art event. This collaboration, therefore, merges art, sustainability, and nature. Offering an unforgettable experience for all attendees.

As part of the anniversary celebration, renowned British-French artist Sophie Kitching will showcase her ethereal art installation at Mura Bar. This will take place during the resort’s annual sunset cocktail event, where guests can enjoy both the scenery and the artwork. Sophie’s artistic style often incorporates natural materials like oil, watercolors, and gold leaf. She has previously collaborated with Maison Ruinart, including during the Frieze New York 2022 event. For this special occasion, Sophie will create unique art pieces using Ruinart’s eco-friendly second skins and coasters. Her inspiration comes from the island’s native plants, grey herons, colorful corals, and vibrant marine life.

Guests at the event will sip Ruinart Blanc De Blancs cuvée while admiring Sophie’s latest work, Invisible Green Art XXX, 2024. This abstract masterpiece features a distinctive shade of green, invented during the Georgian era in England. The painting will be on display at JOALI for six months, offering visitors an exclusive chance to experience it. Moreover, limited-edition hand-painted second skins from Sophie’s collection will be available for purchase during and after the event.

On 16 November 2024, guests will have the opportunity to indulge in a champagne dinner hosted by Fabien Vallérian. Fabien is the International Director of Arts & Culture at Ruinart. This evening will feature Ruinart champagnes paired with a gourmet menu designed to create a symphony of flavors. Each dish and glass will tell a story of art and craftsmanship, offering guests a truly immersive experience.

Fabien Vallérian shared his thoughts on the collaboration, saying,

“At Maison Ruinart, the protection of nature is at the core of our values; we are committed to supporting artists that create a conversation between humanity and nature through their creativity and craftsmanship. Since 2022, we have collaborated with Sophie Kitching on several artistic commissions, and we believe this project with JOALI is an amazing opportunity for her to discover and explore the ecosystems and beauty of the Maldives.”

Ruinart, founded in 1729 in Reims, France, has long been associated with the art world. In 1895, the brand commissioned renowned Czech artist Alphonse Mucha to create a poster. Similarly, since its opening in 2018, JOALI Maldives has made art a core part of its identity. The resort has brought artists from around the world, thus transforming the Maldives’ luxury hospitality landscape. Both JOALI and Ruinart share a commitment to luxury, artistic expression, and the celebration of beauty in all its forms.

This celebration marks just the beginning of an exciting partnership between JOALI Maldives and Ruinart. The two brands plan to continue collaborating on future artistic initiatives, both in the Maldives and around the world.
