As Marriott International welcomes guests to the company’s hotels & resorts around the globe, the Marriott Cleanliness Council is redefining the hospitality giant’s cleaning and safety standards. The brand operates five resorts in the Maldives with two properties in the pipeline.

As we welcome you back to our hotels around the world, we are committed to providing you with a safe environment that aligns with expert protocols for working to defeat COVID-19. Consisting of in-house and outside experts in food and water safety, hygiene and infection prevention, and hotel operations, our Marriott Cleanliness Council is redefining our cleaning and safety standards.

A statement by Marriott International

Marriott International is rolling out enhanced technologies including electrostatic sprayers to sanitize surfaces throughout their hotels. The company has elevated their rigorous protocols to thoroughly clean all surfaces with hospital-grade disinfectants in guest rooms. Marriott revealed its also testing ultraviolet light technology for sanitizing guest keys and devices shared by associates. Hand sanitizing stations are being installed at hotel entrances, front desks, elevator banks, and meeting spaces at their properties.

The company’s mobile technologies provide reassurance and distancing options for guests. In over 3,200 hotels, guests can use their mobile devices to check in, access room and order room services. In addition to many more measures, partitions at check-in to provide an extra level of precaution for guests and associates.

Marriott International encompasses a portfolio of more than 7,400 properties under 30 leading brands spanning 134 countries and territories. The company operates and franchises hotels and licenses vacation ownership resorts all around the world.

In the Maldives, the brand operates The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort, JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa, W Maldives, The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort and Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa. The hospitality giant is also preparing to debut its flagship luxury brand, The Ritz-Carlton and Le Méridien brand in the Maldives.
