Adaaran Resorts Maldives has introduced another sustainability project: The Coral Re-plantation Project, aiming to save the ‘lungs’ of the world. In commemoration of the World Environment Day and the World Ocean day on 05th June 2020, the newly launched initiative is one of the many sustainability projects undertaken by Adaaran Resorts Maldives.

For the new project, discarded beds and iron trees were adorned with corals selected and nurtured carefully. According to Adaaran Resorts, the selection of corals took several months as it included thorough scrutiny and research of the house reef and lagoon. The research for the project is carried out with the support and help from Adaaran Resorts’ official dive partner “Dive Point”.

Corals are very sensitive and beautiful creatures that can be found under water and each coral behaves in their own unique way, in tandem with the ever-changing environment. We help them to grow and multiply using different ways to fix corals. We believe that continuous monitoring is the key to the success in their growth.”

The luxury hospitality group is committed to protecting the magnificent coral reefs while working to protect the ecosystem from pollution. Opposing any form of littering, recycling all renewable resources, regular maintenance of beaches, etc are some of the green practices in place at Adaaran Resorts.
