Mr. Mohamed Mihad has been appointed as the Managing Director of the National airline of the Maldives, Maldivian. Mihad has previously served as a Board Member of the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).
Mihad also brings over a decade of experience in the travel sector to the national airline of the Maldives. Furthermore, he has filled positions in companies such as the Maldives Tourism Development Corporation as well. Maldivian announced on its official Twitter account about Mihad’s appointment.

Before Mihad’s appointment, Mohamed Rizvi has been serving as the Managing Director of Maldivian. He has now moved to the Regional Airports Company Limited as the managing director. The Regional Airports company Limited was established last year under a presidential decree.

In addition to that, the Regional Airports Company oversees the operations of regional airports developed by the Government. And the company also ensures that they are operated in an efficient and sustainable basis. The Maldives also inaugurated four new airports last year, now overseen by the Regional Airports Company Limited.
The national airline of the Maldives operates international flights and local domestic services as well. Maldivian started its services with three aircraft; a Bombardier Dash 8 Q200; and a Dornier 228. The airline later commenced its international flights on 2008, with scheduled flights to Thiruvananthapuram, India.

Today, Thee nation’s carrier operates daily frequent flights to 16 airports within the country. Furthermore, Maldivian also provides seaplane transfers to resorts in the Maldives.
