Dima Bilan to Headline Festive Season at Amilla Maldives

Russian performer, Dima Bilan, won Eurovision in 2008 With Believe’, came a respectable second place in 2006 with ‘Never Let You Go’ and has had several numbers one hit in Russia.

He visited Amilla earlier this year for a holiday and said he couldn’t wait to return to the idyllic tropical playground again. But this time, he’ll be taking to the stage at the five-star Baa Atoll Resort for its legendary Christmas and New Years’ entertainment programme.

Amilla Maldives is renowned for its thrilling festive extravaganzas and this Festive Season is shaping up to be even more spectacular than ever. Bilan will perform two shows, one on Russian Orthodox Christmas Eve (January 6th, 2022) and a follow-up performance on January 13th, 2022.

Dima says: “After staying at Amilla earlier this year I knew there was no other place I wanted to be to celebrate the Festive Season. I am looking forward to being back in paradise and performing for Amilla’s guests”.

Amilla Maldives will be announcing more headline acts over the coming months. The resort’s action-packed Summer Programme is currently in full swing, featuring entertainments for kids, activities for teens and even the launch of new holistic Wellness Packages.

The flexible Wellness Package schedules are designed to fit around guests’ holidays, without compromising quality time with their partners or families.

They include an array of options, from Acrobatics to Detox, and the imaginative components aimed at balancing mind, body and soul range from fire juggling to chef-guided ‘gourmet foraging’ for indigenous fruits and vegetables growing on the spacious, lush private island resort.

Autumn is also packed with activities for all guests including the increasingly popular weekly sandbank party.

Maldives Takes Home Wins at World Travel Awards 2024!

Maldives is yet again taking home coveted awards at the World Travel Awards (Indian Coean Category), at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024. The award show which is being held at Dubai World Trade Center from 6th to 9th May recognises and rewards excellence in travel and tourism. It is no shock that the Maldives took home more than one award, as the destination has always been a tourist-hot spot.

The Maldives took home the following awards this year:

  • Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination 2024
  • Indian Ocean’s Leading Honeymoon Destination 2024
  • Indian Ocean’s Leading Green Destination 2024
  • Indian Ocean’s Leading Dive Destination 2024

The resorts that won these awards for the Maldives are also noteworthy. Conrad Maldives Rangali Island claimed the coveted title of ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Hotel’. Vakkaru Maldives won ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Resort’. Coco Bodu Hithi, Maldives was named ‘Indian Ocean’s Most Romantic Resort’. Cora Cora Maldives also enjoyed a strong showing, winning ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading All-Inclusive Resort’.

The Maldives also won some of these categories at the 2023 World Travel Awards. Last year the Maldives won the Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination 2023 title. Additionally, the country also won the Indian Ocean’s Leading Beach Destination 2023 and the Indian Ocean’s Leading Dive Destination 2023. Two of these titles have been won by the Maldives since 2020. This year, however, the Indian Ocean’s Leading Beach Destination was won by the beautiful Seychelles. In addition to the Maldives, Mauritius, Madagascar, and Reunion Island competed for this title.
