Etihad Airways has announced temporary suspension of all passenger flights to and from Abu Dhabi International Airport. The suspension of Etihad’s operations will commence on 25th March 2020 at 23:59 (UAE local time) and will last 14 days until further notice. However, Etihad will continue its Cargo and emergency evacuation flights.

Etihad Airways has been working in close cooperation with regulatory authorities in the UAE and overseas while monitoring the situation closely. The decision to suspend all inbound, outbound, and transit passenger flights were taken in compliance with the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority and the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).

These are unprecedented times and unprecedented decisions are being made by governments, authorities and companies, including Etihad, to contain the spread of the coronavirus and to help minimise its effects around the world.”

Tony Douglas, GCEO of Etihad Aviation Group

Passengers will be notified if their flight has been cancelled, however, all passengers are advised to check the flight status on Etihad website before proceeding to the airport. For those passengers who are impacted by flight cancellation, procedures are set to assist customers with their requirements until regular services starts again. Etihad guests can visit the dedicated web page relating to the matters.

We stand with our loyal customers, who are having to endure disruption and inconvenience to their travel and their daily lives, and we dedicate all our efforts and resources to ensuring we do all we can to assist them with their travel planning during this challenging period.”

Etihad Airways will continue to follow UAE and international government and regulatory authority directives and is applying a contingency plan to assist affected customers. The continuation of passenger flights will be announced through the airline’s usual channels once the travel restrictions are lifted.
