In light of the World Breast Cancer Awareness Month, LUX* South Ari will handover donations to the Cancer Society of Maldives.

In light of the World Breast Cancer Awareness Month of October, LUX* South Ari Atoll Resort & Villas is doing
their part in raising awareness of what affects hundreds of thousands of women every year. The resort will handover all donations given by guests to the ‘Tree of Wishes’ during the month of October to the Cancer Society of Maldives.

The Cancer Society is a non-profit/non-governmental organization formed by individuals for the purpose of reducing the incidence and impact of cancer in the Maldives. The organization engages in activities such as increasing general awareness and establishing early cancer detection methods. These activities take place through cancer screening camps. The Cancer Society also promotes healthy living through educational programs. Furthermore, the organization conducts training programs for healthcare workers. And also provides psychosocial support to cancer patients, survivors, their families, and more.

With health and wellness comes difficult conversations as well. By contributing locally to the awareness, support and research of what affects so many people worldwide daily, is the least we can do from our end.

Sindy Lagare, Director of Spa & Wellness at LUX* South Ari Atoll Resort & Villas said.

Throughout the month of October, the team at LUX* South Ari Atoll will wear the pink ribbon on their uniforms. Likewise, the pink ribbon serves as an international symbol of breast cancer awareness and support for those affected.
