Tourism Minister of the Maldives revealed that the country expects a new record number of tourist arrivals in a single day today.

Tourism Minister of the Maldives, Dr Abdulla Mausoom revealed that the country expects a new record number of tourist arrivals in a single day today. The minister tweeted that today’s arrivals are an indication of the confidence tourists have in the Maldives.

tourist arrivals will have to exceed the current record of 5,516 tourist arrivals witnessed on 26th March 2021 to set a new record today.

According to the latest statistics from the Maldives’ Ministry of Tourism, the island nation has recorded over 600,000 tourist arrivals. From 1st January 2021 to 28th July 2021, Maldives saw 600,252 arrivals.

The tropical holiday destination has maintained a status as one of the world’s most trendy destinations since the country reopened its borders last year. Likewise, the island archipelago aims to welcome 1.5 million tourists in 2021.
