Maldives National University Introduces Courses for Tourism Industry Staff

The Maldives National University (MNU) has introduced courses for the staff in the Maldives’ tourism industry.

Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Maldives’ Ministry of Tourism and the Maldives National University, the university has introduced courses for tourism industry staff.

According to a circular by the Maldives’ Ministry of Tourism, the courses introduced includes:

  • Certificate III in Patisserie (6 months)
  • Certificate III in Food and Beverage Operations (6 months)
  • Certificate III in Front Office Operations (6 months)
  • Certificate III in House Keeping Operations (6 months)

Tourism Ministry revealed that the ministry supports and encourages all the tourist establishments to employ qualified and trained personnel in facilities at all times. In addition to that, these courses are accredited by the Maldives Qualification Authority as a level 3 certification.
