ITB China has officially announced Maldives as the Official Partner Destination of ITB China 2024. This event will be hosted from 27th to 29th May in Shanghai. The partnership aims to attract more Chinese tourists and puts the unique island destination in the spotlight of China’s outbound travel market.
The Maldives has always been a popular destination among Chinese travellers. Although there has been a decline in Chinese tourist arrivals during the pandemic, it appears that tourism is going back to normal as destinations overcome the harsh COVID-19 boundaries that were set in place. Not only is the Maldives popular for its natural beauty and pristine beaches, but the country is also popular for its amazing hospitality. This year, the Maldives will be showcasing its offerings in ITB China’s largest national pavilion. This includes more than 40 travel companies as co-exhibitors during the three-day B2B event.
MMPRC’s Efforts in Promoting the Maldives at ITB China 2024
The ITB China event will be a great platform for the Maldives to promote the Maldives as a destination. During the three-day trade show, the Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) will be conducting some educational and promotional events. This includes providing information about the latest products, services, and experiences through promotional materials and during face-to-face meetings. Additionally, the booths set up for the destination will also showcase and promote its vibrant tourism offerings. Moreover, MMPRC has also announced that the company will be hosting a conference during Day 1 of ITB China. This will provide an amazing opportunity for engagement with and from attending media.
We are excited about the opportunity to engage with our global partners and the travel trade from China to share the latest updates about the Maldives, our tourism products and unparalleled offerings. This partnership allows us to showcase our destination’s unique beauty and reinforce our position as the top-of-mind destination for travelers from China and worldwide, says Ms. Fathmath Thaufeeq, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of MMPRC.
