MMPRC Launches Maldives Promotion Campaign in Italy

Maldives Marketing & PR Corporation (MMPRC) has initiated an outdoor brand visibility campaign to promote Maldives in Italy. During this major campaign, the popular island destination will be promoted as the most desirable tourist destination for the Italian market. 

The white sandy beaches and the turquoise seas defining the beauty of Maldives will be displayed as video advertisements on 350 screens, across 14 different airports in Italy. 

Moreover, a tram traveling in Milan will be covered with photos of the most unique experiences available in Maldives, for a period of three months. The course of the tram includes major tourist attractions in Milan. 

Italy’s renowned travel agency Alpitour and 2000 agency offices run under Alpitour will also show the beauty of Maldives through window displays as well. 

According to a statement issued by MMPRC, “MMPRC will continue marketing campaigns focusing on Italy in 2020. In this regard, MMPRC will participate in two major tourism fairs and organize press, influencer and celebrity familiarization trips along with joint campaigns with travel agencies including Online campaigns and outdoor campaigns.” 

Italy has been a significantly important market for the Maldivian tourism industry. In terms of tourist arrivals, Italy has been ranked as the third largest market in Maldives. With an increase of 29.5 percent of arrivals in comparison to 2018, a total of 136,343 tourists from Italy visited in 2019. 

MMPRC has been taking a number of initiatives to promote Maldives as a destination. Some of the initiatives undertaken in the last year includes 15 fairs in 12 markets, 5 roadshows in 13 markets, 12 joint promotion programs, 2 global campaigns and several foreign media trips.
