The Maldives has recorded the highest number of tourist arrivals on a single-day since the border reopening on 1st November 2020. According to a tweet by the Maldives Minister of Tourism, Dr. Abdulla Mausoom, the island nation recorded 1,582 tourist arrivals yesterday.

Tourism Minister further revealed the tourist arrival forecast for October was achieved with over 21,000 arrivals. In Addition to that, the minister thanked and congratulated travel and tourism industry partners and related authorities.

The island nation’s tourist arrivals have been steadily rising since the border reopening. Major airlines have already resumed its operations to the Maldives. And likewise, more airlines have announced their plans to resume operations to the Maldives. Most recently, GoAir resumed its operations to the Maldives Yesterday, 1st November 2020.

Several resorts have also reopened its doors this month. Furthermore, additional resorts have also announced their plans to reopen in the coming weeks. Resorts have implemented rigorous safety measures to provide travellers with a safer holiday experience.

Meanwhile, Maldives has resumed its guesthouse operations on 15th October 2020. But, currently only guesthouses outside the greater Male’ region remains open. According to the statistics from the Ministry of Tourism, 49 guesthouses in the Maldives has reopened (as of 1st November 2020).

If you plan to visit the Maldives, remember that you need a negative PCR Test taken 96 hours before you arrive in the country. The test results can be submitted when filling out the Traveler Health Declaration Form. Furthermore, all tourists must submit this form via the immigration website.
