SriLankan Airlines , the national career of Sri Lanka announced temporary suspension of all its flights from 08th April 2020 to 21st of April 2020 due to the travel restriction and travel bans imposed by majority of the destinations SriLankan airline operates.
Aviation being one of the industry that has been affected most on a global scale due to the pandemic, SriLankan airline made this official announcement on 01st April 2020 in their four decade tenure. Sri Lanka has banned all inbound flights to the nation on 17th March 2020 as an effort to combat COVID-19.
The Airline is constantly reviewing the market conditions and the restrictions imposed by the various authorities and will be ready to recommence its operations at short notice even before the 21st April 2020 in the event such restrictions are lifted.
