Sun Siyam Olhuveli Maldives celebrated International Chefs Day 2024 with the theme “Growing Great Chefs.” This event highlighted chefs’ extraordinary skills and innovative spirit, setting the stage for the future of culinary arts within the hospitality sector. Held on October 20th and 21st, the celebration brought the resort’s culinary experts and guests together for a vibrant gathering, filled with cooking demonstrations, cultural experiences, and entertainment.

An exciting cake-cutting ceremony brought together chefs, resort staff, and guests to celebrate the culinary team’s hard work. After that, children participated in doughnut hanging contests and cookie decorating, sparking their creativity and passion for food. Meanwhile, adults joined a beer challenge and an omelet-making competition. These activities allowed guests to showcase their culinary skills in a relaxed, enjoyable beachside setting.

In addition, the event featured a raffle draw offering exciting prizes, creating a sense of anticipation throughout the day. The main event, however, was the World Street Food Market buffet dinner held on October 21st at Sunrise Beach. This dinner gave guests a global culinary experience as chefs from various countries showcased their homeland’s cuisine. Dishes ranged from the rich spices of Asian street food to the traditional flavors of Africa, the Middle East, and the Maldives. Each dish offered a glimpse into a different part of the world, turning the evening into a vibrant celebration of diversity and flavor.

Growing great chefs isn’t just about teaching culinary skills; it’s about nurturing passion, creativity, and a deep respect for food.”

Sun Siyam Olhuveli Maldives combined its passion for culinary excellence with a fun and interactive guest experience during the two-day celebration.
