The Maldives has recorded over 2000 tourist arrivals in a single-day. According to a tweet by Maldives’ Tourism Minister, the island nation recorded more than 2000 tourist arrivals on Sunday, 15th November 2020. Hence, a new record number of arrivals in a single-day since the borders reopened.

From 1st to 11th November, the Maldives recorded over 10,000 tourist arrivals. Approximately 10,972 tourists arrived in the island archipelago during this period. Likewise, for this period, the Maldives saw a daily average of 997 arrivals to the country.

Tourism Minister of the Maldives, Dr. Abdulla Mausoom tweeted.

Since the border reopening, the holiday destination has recorded over 50,000 tourist arrivals. Meanwhile, before the Maldives closed its borders, a total of 382,760 tourists spent their getaways in the island Destination.

Russia is the leading tourist source market to the Maldives since the border reopening. According to statistics from the Tourism Ministry, 11,240 tourists have arrived in the Maldives from Russia between 15th July 2020 and 11th November 2020. Additionally, the flag carrier of Russia, Aeroflot will also increase its flight frequency to the Maldives from 21st November 2020.

The Maldives’ tourist arrivals are growing at a steady pace.
