Vakkaru Maldives Hosts Charity Dinner Supporting Australian Bushfire Crisis

Vakkaru Maldives has pledged its support for the Australian bushfire crisis by hosting a charity dinner in order to raise funds for Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service (WIRES).

Guests were invited to the charity dinner at Vakku Grill, the resort’s signature restaurant on the beach. The set menu was inspired by Australia’s food culture and curated by the General Manager Nicholas Mason, Executive chef Prasong Taochan and Sommelier Stefanie Wiesner.

We’re located in a UNESCO biosphere reserve here in Baa Atoll, so we understand the importance and fragility of healthy ecosystems. It’s heartbreaking to see so many injured animals and such widespread loss of life and natural habitat.”

Nicholas Mason stated

The charity dinner took place on 11th January 2020.The set menu for the night included braised pork belly with vegemite sauce, grilled Australian black angus beef tenderloin and Tasmanian salmon couscous, chai cake for the main course as well as choices of pavlova and lamington for dessert. Wine pairing was also a part of the evening with some of Australia’s finest wines chosen by Stefanie Wiesner.

All the funds raised will be donated to WIRES in order to help all the animals affected by the bushfire and to ensure they receive the best of care.

Vakkaru Maldives is a 30-minute seaplane journey away from Velana International Airport. The lush green island features luxurious villas and suites, five restaurants, two bars, a wine cellar and an over water spa. Guests can enjoy the thrill of exciting water sports at the Splash Water Sports and dive center as well as engage in sports at the sports fields at Vakkaru Maldives.

Angsana Velavaru Launches Personalized Proposal Packages for Couples

Set in the quiet beauty of the South Nilandhe Atoll, Angsana Velavaru offers couples a chance to begin their forever with a proposal they’ll never forget. The resort, known for its peaceful setting and natural elegance, has launched a series of personalised proposal experiences that go beyond the usual romantic package.

At Angsana Velavaru, couples don’t just ask a question. Instead, they create a memory that reflects their unique journey. The resort carefully designs each experience to match the couple’s story. For example, some choose to walk along a private beach at sunset. Others propose on the rooftop of one of the resort’s iconic InOcean Villas. These overwater villas sit apart from the main resort, offering sweeping ocean views and complete seclusion for a truly intimate moment.

Moreover, the team at Angsana Velavaru handles every detail with care. They work quietly to make sure everything runs smoothly, so couples can stay fully present in the moment. In addition, guests can personalise their experience with thoughtful touches like a private dinner under the stars or a discreet photographer to capture the proposal.

What truly sets these experiences apart is the resort’s dedication to storytelling. Rather than offering a standard romantic package, Angsana Velavaru focuses on each couple’s relationship and preferences. As a result, every proposal feels meaningful and entirely unique.

Angsana Velavaru, a nominee for the South Asia Travel Awards’ “Most Romantic Resort,” continues to offer more than just beautiful surroundings. Ultimately, the resort creates a space where important moments feel natural and deeply personal. With these new proposal experiences, Angsana Velavaru warmly invites guests to start their next chapter in a setting as unforgettable as the promise they make.
