03 new resorts have opened in the Maldives in the first half of 2021. While several more resorts have announced to open their doors this year, delays due to COVID-related issues could mean some of these resorts will push their opening date to 2022 or late.
All 03 resorts that opened in the first half of this year are luxury resorts redefining standards in the hospitality industry. Moreover, two of the new resorts that opened in the first half of 2021 is located in the Fari Islands; an integrated destination in the Maldives.

The integrated destination also includes the ‘Fari Village’, a dedicated island for staff. This island focuses on community, education, and engagement. Likewise, the Fari Village will be a first-of-its-kind in the Maldives.
Alongside the second integrated destination in the island nation taking its shape, other international hotel brands including Le Méridien, Avani and Alila are also opening resorts in the Maldives.
