Maldives Inflight Catering Group has appointed Ibrahim Inad as Commercial Director, adding a seasoned expert to its leadership team. With over 20 years of experience in the tourism and hospitality sectors, Inad will lead the group’s commercial initiatives, focusing on brand repositioning, market expansion, and revenue growth.
Ali Shakir, Group General Manager of MIC Group, welcomed Inad to the team, saying
“We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Inad to our leadership team. His vast experience in luxury hospitality and his strategic foresight will be instrumental in driving our sales and marketing efforts forward. We are confident that under his direction, our properties and services will reach new levels of excellence and recognition on the global stage.”
A Journey Through Leading Luxury Resorts
Inad began his hospitality career in 2004 at Huvafenfushi Maldives by Per Aquum, where he worked in the Food and Beverage department and built a strong foundation for his future in the industry. Nearly a decade later, he transitioned into sales by joining Velaa Private Island as a Reservations and Sales Coordinator. Thanks to his drive and strategic mindset, he quickly earned promotions to Sales and Marketing Executive and later to Director of Sales for the Asia-Pacific and Middle East markets, where he led major growth efforts.
Over the years, Inad held senior positions at some of the Maldives’ leading luxury resorts, including Milaidhoo Maldives, The Nautilus Maldives, and InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort. At Milaidhoo, he expanded the resort’s reach in key markets such as Russia, China, and the Middle East. Furthermore, he shaped the post-opening market strategy for The Nautilus Maldives, setting a strong commercial foundation for the new resort. At InterContinental Maldives, he managed important markets, including Saudi Arabia, Germany, Austria, and Australia, and built strong partnerships with top tour operators.
Strengthening Global Reach and Brand Presence
In addition to these roles, Inad served as Cluster Director of Sales for the IHG Group Maldives, where he strengthened the brand’s presence across Europe and the Gulf region. Most recently, he led the sales and marketing efforts at Oaga Art Resort, where he crafted strategies that significantly boosted the resort’s international profile. Consequently, his work at Oaga positioned the resort as a recognizable name in key markets.
Now stepping into his new role at MIC Group, Inad will drive the company’s commercial growth, expand its market presence, strengthen partnerships, and pursue new revenue opportunities in both existing and emerging markets. Moreover, his appointment signals MIC Group’s ambitions to further solidify its position within the global hospitality sector.
Reflecting on his new appointment, Inad said:
“I am truly excited to be part of Maldives Inflight Catering. With my experience, expertise, and commitment, I believe there is significant potential to achieve extraordinary milestones together, as well as remarkable growth, elevating the group to new heights.”
