The highly anticipated wellness retreat JOALI BEING in the Raa Atoll has finally opened its doors to welcome guests.

The highly anticipated JOALI Being has finally opened its doors to welcome guests. Located on the secluded island of Bodufishi in the Raa Atoll, the resort is the first island retreat in the Maldives that is completely dedicated to wellbeing.

A 40-minute seaplane journey from the Male’ International Airport, the island hosts a total of 68 exquisitely designed beach and overwater villas. Each luxurious villa comes with a private pool and a variety of highly personalized amenities. From a minibar, games to aid in your wellbeing and musical instruments for meditation. Furthermore, every villa has its own butler, or ‘Jadugar’, which translates to ‘magician’.

A plethora of wellness facilities presents guests with the opportunity to heal, reflect and grow. These facilities range from holistic and alternative, to diagnostic and scientific. Additionally, fitness regimes and diets can be curated for each individual guest by professional nutritionists as part of the signature immersion programmes.

At JOALI Being, the key philosophy is combining the old and the new to replenish the mind, skin, microbiome and energy. There are 39 elegant elevated treatment rooms dotted along the island. They are designed to harness the healing energies of the natural surroundings to create a completely relaxed environment.

Dining at JOALI Being is an unparalleled culinary journey. The expansive dining space boasts three main kitchens – Plantae, Su and B’Well. They offer a selection of earth-to-table and ocean-to-table meals prepped to perfection with the freshest of ingredients. Moreover, meals served range from vegetarian and vegan to pescatarian. The resort assures that ingredients are sourced from sustainable local farms.

The long-awaited Barceló Nasandhura Malé is set to open its doors this month, adding a new dimension to the hospitality scene in the Maldives. Located on the iconic site of the former Nasandhura Palace Hotel in Malé city, this new five-star property is ready to elevate the experience for both tourists and business travelers. The hotel initially scheduled its opening for 1st December, but final touches delayed the launch by a few weeks. Still, excitement builds as the hotel prepares to welcome its first guests in just two to three weeks.

This grand opening follows a $90 million investment, led by the Barceló Hotel Group. The Spanish chain has built a strong reputation for its luxury properties across Europe, the UAE, and Thailand. Barceló Nasandhura Malé features 126 beautifully designed rooms and 118 serviced apartments. The hotel will become the largest in the Male’ area, offering both short-term stays and serviced apartments, which were initially meant for residential use but are now available for daily stays.

A Blend of Luxury and City Life


Barceló Nasandhura Malé blends luxury with the vibrant energy of the city. The hotel offers stunning views of both Malé and the surrounding ocean. It provides various accommodation options, from Superior Ocean View rooms to spacious three-bedroom apartments and an exclusive 260-square-meter Penthouse.
