The Ritz-Carlton Maldives Appoints Pak Wai Lau as Chef de Cuisine

The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands announced the appointment of Pak Wai Lau as the Chef de Cuisine at the resort.

The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands announced the appointment of Pak Wai Lau as the Chef de Cuisine at the resort. Chef Lau brings over 30 years of experience to the upcoming property.

According to The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Chef Lau started his career in 1990 as a Chinese Chef at Hyatt Regency Dubai, UAE and transferred to Hyatt Regency Bandung, Indonesia in 1997. By his expertise and experience internationally, he was appointed Executive Chinese Chef at Grand Hyatt Hotel Fukuoka, Japan the following year.

Chef Lau then moved to Seoul, South Korea in 2003 and Bangkok, Thailand in 2005 performing the same role with the same company. He continued to explore different countries and brands exhibiting his expertise. In 2017, Al Bustan Palace, A Ritz-Carlton Hotel appointed him as their new Chinese Executive Chef.

With Chef Lau’s skills and experience being shaped by various countries, it is with no doubt that he will delight our guests with his authentic Chinese dishes.

Before joining The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, Pak Wai Lau was with Dong Phuong Group, a company based in Vietnam, performing the role of Chinese Executive Chef.
